Leah Barnett, Bilingual Services (Spanish)

Hello all,

My name is Leah Barnett, and I am from the family-friendly city of Boonville, IN. I am a daughter of the King, mother of 4 rambunctious boys, and fur-mom to our energetic and beautiful pup, Nisa. My most favorite things include coffee, chocolate, and cheese. Lol. Since my youth, I have enjoyed going on “adventures” through the stories I have read, and I always found it easy to read as many as 7 books in one week. The stories that inspired me the most were the ones in which the main character(s) spent his or her life in service to others. Traveling to other countries and learning all about other cultures was in my thoughts constantly. In fact, those dreams motivated and inspired me to pursue Studies in the Bible and Missions when I attended college in North Carolina. Not only did they motivate and inspire me, but they also paved the way for mission trips, church ministry, jobs, and life’s experiences.

My background and experience are as follows:

  • Missions trip to Mexico in 1998

  • Missions trip to Spain in 2001

  • B.A. in Bible/Missions in 2004

  • Missions Internship in Mexico in 2004

  • Hispanic Church Ministry for 8+ years

  • Volunteer & paid work as a Spanish speaking Medical Interpreter for 2 years

  • Trainer of Trainers through Bridging the Gap

  • Children and Youth Ministry for 20+ years

  • Office experience of 7+ years which includes Secretary, HR Assistant, Recruitment, Advertising, Scheduling, Data entry, Office management, Tax deductions, Payroll, etc…

  • Tutoring in English, Reading, and Spanish

I also find great enjoyment in mentoring/encouraging others to grow and be confident in who God created them to be. Although we each experience pain, we can become stronger as a result of those trials and lead the life we are meant to live.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that each person has a purpose, and I will always strive to speak up for, communicate with, and serve others in my community.

*Fun Fact: I ran for Mayor of Boonville in 2019.
