About the Owner:

Hello from the southern Indiana rivertown of Newburgh! My name is Lori Barnett, and I am a grace-given child of God who is an Achiever, Believer, Communicator, and Dreamer - among other things! (see what I did there - one of my quirks) I love how our stories can connect us and give us purpose. I have an appreciation for both summaries and stories, so here’s my version of both to connect to both audiences and anyone in between.

Short version for the “get to the bullet-point” people…

Some of my background and experience includes:

  • Focus on personal and professional growth of self and others.

  • Other passions/focus areas: relationships, missions, care, learning/education

  • Earned BS in education in 2004

  • Foreign missionary to Eastern Europe in 2007-2008

  • 20+ years of office experience, including medical office work & office management

  • Teacher at private schools & one-on-one tutor

  • Experienced communication specialist & coach

  • I love coffee and the seaside, the end.

Longer version (but not the longest) for the “details-driven, paragraph” people...

According to CliftonStrengths, the themes that drive me are Executing, Relationship Building, and Strategic Thinking. One of my goals is to use those strengths to grow personally and professionally and to help others do the same.

A few years after earning a BS in education in 2004, I moved to Eastern Europe in 2007. I experienced an amazing, rollercoaster year (yes, there is an even longer version of this story), and I returned to the US, continuing my calling of helping people. In the following years, I worked in a cafe, taught at a private school, worked the front desk at a couple of medical offices, and in the last several years stepped into roles of office manager, program manager, educational liaison, communication support, and a host of other experiences at a therapy clinic and therapeutic day school.

I have devoted my life to "missional" work, and I am so thankful for every opportunity and learning experience. My passions in life center around a CARE focus - care for my faith, family, friends, and fellowship with others. Everyone and everything needs care to survive and thrive.

Learning and helping others enjoy learning is a passion of mine. I love discovering the gifts, strengths, beauty, and, yes, even the scars of another person. Sometimes this discovery is like digging for buried treasure or solving a mystery and other times it is as simple as learning your own name.  Humanity, and all the ways that connect us, has always been something I love to study - languages, cultures, history, music, faith, food, and coffee (that is a human connection, right?) are just a few of the things that I could talk about for hours on end. Now it’s your turn!
